Clinical Course Developer

Correctional Psychiatric Services is seeking a Clinical Course Developer to work closely with our multidisciplinary team. The Clinical Course Developer participates in the design, development and maintenance of learning programs and training materials on various correctional health topics.

Qualifications

The course developer must be a licensed member of any of the following professions:

  • Social work, mental health or psychology

  • Nursing (RN)

  • Medicine (Nurse Practitioner or MD)

  • Psychiatry (Psychiatric NP or MD)

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in correctional health.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with or without supervision.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, able to participate in weekly meetings in person or virtually.

  • Reliable and committed to the project from start to completion.

  • Conceptualize and develop online training programs on correctional health using current technologies such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite among others.

  • Design and develop high-quality learning content, assessments, and modules based on specific project guidelines.

  • Follow the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) and/or the Association of Social Work Board’s guidelines and standards for online education.

  • Maintain an advanced understanding of the correctional healthcare industry trends and best practices.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across CPS to develop and determine scope of instructional needs and appropriate delivery methods.

  • Apply appropriate adult learning and instructional design theories to instructional content.

  • Create test questions to measure the trainee's learning.

  • Manage own projects independently and provides status updates to team members on a regular basis.

  • Participates in regular team meetings.
